Week #2 at MIM

Hey y'all,

On Saturday I was fortunate enough to attend the event "Experience France" and contribute to it by helping kids in the french accordion making station. It was so awesome, all the kids had fun making the little craft and I got to go around and see a little of what was happening around the museum. I spoke to a sweet lady about how interested I was about studying abroad in France and even had a conversation with her in French (thanks to those 4 yrs of french class). I also got to be a part of the debrief meeting after the event, so there was talk about what went well and what could be improved. I learned a lot from it; like paying attention to certain details that may confuse the majority of the audience.  This week I've been helping Niki combine two museum guides into one. Although it is so much reading and trying to figure out which parts should stay, I feel like I've gotten the inside scoop on the whole museum tours part. I had a meeting with Jessica and Cristina, they work with the volunteers at the MIM. They informed me of what they do and and showed me a super cute power point of  what they'd show at a volunteer orientation. Also, they gifted me a cute scarf with music notes on it! On Saturday I had the opportunity to observe MIM's Mini Music Maker's class. It is just as cute as the title of the class. It's music classes for kids and they're separated by age: babies, toddlers, and kids 5+. It was so much fun and I swear the parents had just as much fun (if not more than) as the kids. Anyway, my little heart melted.
