Crystal Vargas Blog Post #2

This week I was primarily facilitating this area of the museum that deals with rotation, energy, shadows, electricity, and power. I got to sit in a meeting where they were finalizing how to run this event they are having next week. They were thinking of the different ways to escort people once the guests had arrived. I kind of got the behind the scenes of how to run a program.

Another day, my supervisor and I walked around the museum with the event planner to see where things were going to go for the event. I noticed that it took a lot of thinking and consideration for this process. They thought about where they wanted the guests to primarily be but there were places where there weren't allowed to take food or drinks. They also had to consider where they were putting the band because of all the echos from how the museum is built.

A group of people(not sure from what institution they were from) were conducting a research about virtual reality. Another intern and I were actually the first to try it out and it was soooooooo cool. Our challenge was a design a wearable device that would refine or replace a phone but it couldn't be a watch. It felt as if the mannequin was standing right in front of you and no one else was there.

This is the "device" I designed through virtual reality.

This is a Pacman and a ghost that a guest created on the light box. It is super cool to see everyone's designs.
