HistoryMiami Maria L.
Hello compañeros,
This is been my first experience as an intern, and it is going super good! It is been a challenge to be four hours away from home, and adapting to such a gigantic and vibrant city, Miami - The traffic here is something else hahah- Doing this intership in another city, it's been giving me a very broad experience, because I am not learning just about museums, I am learning by first hand about other cultures (Hatian & Cuban), and I am also learning how to get alone in such a hard, diverse, and truly diverse city!
I will like to show you not just about my experience in the museum as an intern, but also of my experience being a 17 years old, getting into the heart of an unknown city, which is also one of the biggest in the nation, and how all this experiences together will not just make me grow in a professional way, but in a personal way as well. Although I am happy I had my mother and brother with me this week, they will go back to Tampa tomorrow, and I will be by myself. Not, I will not be by myself at all, I'm grateful another yapper is doing his intership in the Sunshine State as well. Yey, I'm not alone at all, our friend Daniel lives in the city and that makes me happy, because I feel we will be able to build a very good friendship.
Aside from all the adventures of being in another city, I will tell you what I have been doing for this week in the HistoryMiami Museum! This week I have mainly shadowed all the educators and the guides of the museums, the archive's manager, the education managers, and the arts, manager. I will mainly be learning the ins and outs of a museum, like swing the projects and events go from scratchs to an actual final event or exhibition.
I will post pictures with details and quick facts later on my next publication!
Besos y abrazos, cuídense mucho y espero que puedan aprender lecciones valiosas. Los aprecio mucho, con amor
-Maria Lorena
