I told you I'd keep you posted lol. Well I actually started my internship yesterday at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science. The drive and the parking over in downtown can be its own story.
Arriving I actually didn't know what I was going to be doing but I soon learned that I would become a camp counselor. The past 2 days I've been with the 4th and 5th graders.
I start at 9 am where after check in, the campers explore the museum. Yesterday it was the aquarium and today was the Feathers to the Stars exhibit. The camp actually brings in quest speakers and professionals that teach the kids different activities and skills. Yesterday was a former Olympic training Taekwondo and today was a Yoga instructor. The campers and staff also got to sit in on a call from oceanographers that were in the middle of the ocean on a 6 week research expedition and ask a couple of questions. Picture of event displayed below.
The rest of the days consisted of PE time in the park next to the museum, lunch and some activities that I wasn't familiar with. For example, "Energy Bites". They are protein filled balls that can easily be made anywhere. Then was dismissal and my time to go home. That's all for right now. I'll let you know how next week goes. Thanks for reading!
